How do I add bookmarks to Speedtile?

We currently support 2 ways for adding bookmarks.
The first method is by using the input box which appears on every page (when logged in), simply enter the URL you need to bookmark and this one will be created immediately for you.

A more user friendly way of bookmarking is through the firefox plugin, which allows you to bookmark on Speedtile with a simple action, all info about our plugin can be found here.

Is it possible to arrange my bookmarks in categories?

Sure! By default we create a category called "home", you can create as many categories (tabs) you need with one simple click. Rename your categories by clicking on your active tab and give it the name you want.

Can I tag my bookmarks?

Yes! Tagging is really easy, you can add / edit your tags by clicking the edit button on your tile. Simply start typing the tags you find relevant for your bookmark, commonly used tags will be included in your personal autocomplete function. Once you have any tag for your bookmark you can view or edit them individually within the tile.

How do I move my bookmarks to another category?

Moving bookmarks is easy, in fact it works the same way as giving a custom order to your category / page.
Simply drag the bookmark that you want to move and drop it on the category tab you want to have the bookmark in! The bookmark will disappear on the current category and appear in the category you have dropped the tile on.

Is it possible to sort my bookmarks within a category?

There are several options for bookmark / tile ordering, next to the alphabetical, creation date, recently visited and most clicked order we also have an intuitive drag n' drop interface which allows you to order it the way YOU want!

Can I share my bookmarks with the public?

Yes! You will have to enable bookmark sharing in your profile setting page, once you checked the sharing option, you will need to enter a nickname, the system will create a unique URL for you (ie.: http://www.speedtile.net/tiler)
Now you can start sharing bookmarks. Simply drag the tiles you want to share on your "shared" tab and this tile is automatically shared for your friends.

How do I import my bookmarks?

When logged in, you can find a link to our import functionalities on your profile. With this module you can import your delicious or firefox bookmarks (any NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1 DTD will work).
You can choose wheter to import the bookmarks with or without categories and/or tags. Even a replace and sharing option is available on this easy to use page.
When the initial import has been done, we will start with taking screenshots of your favourite website in the background. This can take a while depending on the quantity of imported bookmarks.

Can I export my bookmarks?

On your profile page you will find a link which brings you to the export page. On this page you will find some options for your export.
In the first section you will find some links you can use to download your bookmarks in RSS or HTML format, the latter can be imported into Firefox. These links can only be accessed when you are logged in.
In the second section there are some permalinks. Those can be used for automated retrieval, e.g. a box on with bookmarks on your blog. The api key included in the permalink is a public key, which can be used for reading Speedtile's API only.

The snapshot I requested is broken or not correct?

It can be that the site you requested is behind a login page or has many redirects which we don't follow, it can be that the website you requested is unavailable at the moment or something else went wrong. If we encounter HTTP errors, we will show a tile with the error in it.
